The national tree, declared on May 29, 1945, is the araguaney (Tabebuia chrysantha).
The national bird, declared on May 23, 1958, is the turpial (Icterus icterus).
The national flower, declared on May 23, 1951, is the orchid (Cattleya mossiae).
